Nature Filming Location

26 Jun 2011, by Monika Vratil

Being situated in the center, amongst the unparalleled beauty of South Head Peninsula surrounded by the Whanganui Inlet and Tasman Sea, makes Westhaven an ideal base location for small to medium nature filming projects such as television advertisements, fashion shoots, coastal documentaries, even specific scene shooting for feature movies.

One of the very best pure Wilderness location for filming nature documentaries

Here New Zealand shows it's most magnificent in outstanding and inspiring landscape with spectacular limestone cliffs and crags, a thriving forest of sub-tropical Nikau palms, and 8km of majestic coastline that fronts the mighty Tasman Sea on one side and magnificent Whanganui (Westhaven) Inlet on the other. You'll also find our friendly herd of llamas always keen to get in on a few shots too!

Not only do we have the best ever concentration of proven location possibilities but we can offer you logistical support with 4WD bikes and Land cruisers, plus all accommodation and meal packages at our lodge to suit. Another advantage of coming here to film is you can forget all that arduous concession and permit paperwork - we own the place. Our remote yet secure road-end location, 40 km from Collingwood, will ensure that you will be able to work without disruptions and far away from any extraneous noise.

Working with film crews like from France long running Thalassa 'sea world' show, coming out to film in October 2011, has given us an appreciation that every crew's requirements are quite different. So get in touch now to discuss making your next film shoot work brilliantly for you.
